EMPower commissioned Brightwind, an Irish wind energy analysis consultancy, to perform a preliminary wind resource assessment based on the 2003 SEAI wind map. This report found the Annagh Wind Farm site to have a Class 2 wind resource. Given a 6 turbine layout, the park was calculated to produce enough clean, renewable electricity to power over 20,000 Irish homes.
