Several connection configurations are being considered for the Annagh wind farm project, taking account of existing and planned transmission infrastructure, existing and planned generators and system loads. The Charleville 110 kV substation is located north east of the proposed site. 

 

The preferred connection strategy of the project features an internal collector circuit and onsite substation which will will export electricity via a 38kV underground cable to the existing substation in Charleville. Any connection strategy will not be finalised until a connection offer is made by Eirgrid.

A grid integration study will be carried out in conjunction with Eirgrid and can commence in Q1 2022 once the planning process has been completed.
